Maithili brings a blend of scientific and business expertise as a Portfolio and Project Manager with experience working on global project teams. In her current role in 23andMe’s Therapeutics division, she is tracking internal programs and managing joint drug discovery and development programs in external collaborations.
Before joining 23andMe, Maithili worked as a project manager at an early-stage biopharma startup where she wore multiple hats and provided cross-functional support for in-house and partnered programs. Prior to working in a startup, Maithili was a Project Architect at PreScouter where she managed teams working on consulting projects with industry clients. She has also advised on market research projects at the Office for Technology Development at UT Southwestern.
Maithili earned her Ph.D. in Cancer Biology from UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX, where her research focused on identifying new therapies for targeting chemotherapy-resistant lung cancers. In addition, she has an M.S. in Biotechnology from the Institute of Bioinformatics & Biotechnology, Pune, India. Her strong scientific background is complemented with business foundations from Harvard Business School CORe.
