Susan has over 18 years of Program / Project Management experience having held positions of increasing responsibility in both small biotech and large pharmaceutical and medical device companies. Her experience includes several therapeutic areas such as immuno-oncology, cardiology, pain management, rare diseases and orphan drugs having worked in drug development ranging from ‘small molecules’ to biologics (i.e. cancer vaccines and cell therapy), device, and combination drug/device platforms. During her career Susan has functioned as the Program / Project Management Lead on multiple high priority projects for late stage drug development programs while also serving as her Department Head.
Susan has progressed rapidly throughout her career; each new position bringing increased responsibilities. Susan began her career as a Research Associate in Medicinal Chemistry. From there Susan transitioned to Project Management at ALZA Pharmaceuticals, a Johnson & Johnson Company. She rapidly advanced to yet another Johnson & Johnson Company, Conor MedSystems, where she worked on programs with increased scope and complexity, and became the Project Leader for their #1 program in the Cordis Portfolio. Additionally, Susan has served in multiple Project Management Consulting roles in R&D and Medical Affairs, to include the vendor management and set-up of an accelerated launch of an EU compassionate use program for a rare disease.
Susan graduated with high honors, holds a BS in Chemistry from Michigan State University and is a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI). In her spare time, Susan is an avid cyclist and triathlete, having qualified multiple years for the USA Triathlon Short Course National Championships, and is a 2x times Ironman.
