Ammar Hamadien is the Head of Strategic Engagement for the GSMA in the Middle East and North Africa. His career in the ICT industry started in the Silicon Valley in the early 90s, where he worked for Fortune 500 companies such as HP and Cisco Systems. Before joining the GSMA, he was Managing Director of a mobile operator in Mauritania. Ammar also held senior level positions with Zain Group in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Sudan (2007-2015), and Etisalat in the United Arab Emirates (2003-2006).
Ammar holds a MBA in Telecommunications Management from Imperial College London Business School, and a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from San Jose State University in USA.
