Eng. Ashraf M. Kotait is a port operations and logistics expert who has extensive research and consulting experience in the port and logistics industry.Lately he was a port operations expert with the Saudi port authority. He worked on research, assessment, strategy and policy development towards enhancing Saudi ports’ performance and competitiveness; and participated in tailoring the Strategic plan of the Saudi ports (2012 – 2042) followed by the nine master plans of the nine commercial Saudi ports. Eng. Kotait has throughout his professional career worked in both public and private sectors, together with the participation in some of the very important local, regional and international studies conducted by the World Bank, GIZ, JICA and some other private consultancy entities covering a wide range of operation and terminal management disciplines.Furthermore, he has both been an invited speaker at several conferences as well as a guest lecturer at the Arab Academy for Science Technology and Maritime Transport, addressing the Master’s class in International Transport and Logistics on the topics of port management and port logistics.
