After approximately five years of International and Transactional Law experience working for Kilpatrick Towsend (fka Kilpatrick & Cody) and Paul, Hastings, Janofsky and Walker, Mr. Hernandez initiated his more than 17 years career as a construction attorney. In his in-house counsel role, Mr. Hernandez work focuses on drafting, negotiating and structuring both domestic and international engineering, procurement and construction projects, proposals, subcontracts and ancillary documents. He also manages all aspects of project execution issues, claims, disputes and litigation, and supports management in establishing and implementing risk management strategies. In 1997, Mr. Hernandez joined Fluor Enterprises as a Counsel working with their ICA-Flour division which provided engineering, procurement and construction services for projects in Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. While with Fluor he also worked with the Duke-Fluor Daniel Power Services division which designs, builds and performs complete life cycle services in the power industry. In 2003, Mr. Hernandez joined AMEC Engineering and Construction where he worked with oil and gas, transport, industrial and infrastructure contracts both domestic and international. For the past eight years he has been with Jacobs Engineering in Houston, Texas as Senior Counsel, and is since 2010 he leads the legal team for Jacobs’ Southern and Upstream Regions. He manages a team of five that work with contracts for the oil and gas industry, that provide full-service engineering, design, construction, modular fabrication, maintenance, and construction management services for South America and the United States.
