David Gohlke is a Senior Attorney and Manager of Claims with Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions US Inc. He advises company operations personnel with regard to on-going projects and project execution matters, including management and pursuit of change orders and vendor and subcontractor claims, in connection with air separation (oxygen-nitrogen-argon), hydrogen and methanol plants and similar large industrial gas projects. Dave also advises other members of the Air Liquide legal team on construction and project execution matters and works with legal, engineering and project execution teams in Air Liquide’s offices in Germany, Poland, France, India and China. Prior to joining Air Liquide Dave was an attorney with the Houston office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP for more than 15 years in the Energy and Infrastructure Projects group, where his practice emphasized structuring, drafting, and negotiating EPC agreements, balance of plant construction agreements, construction management agreements, and turbine and other major equipment purchase agreements in connection with gas, coal and renewable power projects, natural gas pipelines, LNG facilities and other energy and infrastructure projects. Dave obtained his A.B. from Washington University in St. Louis in 1985 and an M.S. in criminal justice administration from Central Missouri State University in 1988. After college, Dave served in the United States Air Force as a security police officer in Missouri, Germany and Italy. He earned his J.D. with honors, and an MBA, from the University of Houston in 1996. Between 2008 and 2013 Dave maintained a part time practice with Skadden while living with his family aboard the Morgan 41 sailboat “Liberty”. He sailed more than 20,000 miles between Texas, the US East Coast, the Bahamas, and the eastern Caribbean, all while continuing to represent power industry clients.
