Mr. McPolin is a Chartered Town Planner with two degrees in City Planning specialising in Infrastructure. He holds the post graduate entry exams of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and the RICS post graduate diploma in Project Management. In addition he holds an ACCA Post Graduate Certified Diploma in Accountancy and Finance and he also has an MBA in Construction. He has worked in Bahrain for 29 years having previously worked in Ireland (Belfast, Dublin), U.K. (London), Germany and Iraq. As Chief of the Central Planning Office (CPO), he is responsible for the coordination of the planning, design, construction and asset protection of all infrastructure, both public and private, in Bahrain through CPO procedures. Although the CPO is part of the Office of H.E. the Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning the responsibilities apply across all demarcation lines to include all ministries, agencies and companies involved with the provision of infrastructure including the oil and gas industry. Mr. McPolin has been appointed Chairman of the District Cooling Committee charged with meeting the District Cooling objectives in the Sustainable Energy Plan for Bahrain which has been approved by the Bahrain Cabinet.
