Dr. Balos has a proven track record in conducting comprehensive plant performance assessments, risk evaluations, and maintenance optimization, particularly for high-temperature equipment and critical plant assets. His experience includes pivotal roles in power plant integrity projects for leading global utility providers such as Eskom South Africa, KNPC Kuwait, Qatar Energy, SINOPEC China, and OMV Petrom Romania. Through these engagements, he has consistently improved plant reliability, reduced operational risks, and enhanced overall efficiency.
A certified professional in API 580 (RBI) and API 571 (Damage Mechanisms), Dr. Balos is also widely recognized for his extensive training and teaching contributions. Since 2005, he has delivered specialized courses on refineries, process plants and power plant performance, RBI, asset integrity, and maintenance management in over 20 countries, significantly enhancing the technical knowledge and capabilities of refining and power plant professionals worldwide.
