Dr. Rigby is a Churchill scholar with Australian and European postgraduate qualifications in surgery, aeromedicine, tropical medicine and international health and is one of Australia’s pre-eminent trauma and intensive care specialists. His Churchill fellowship was awarded to support research into innovative applications for robotics, drones and telemedicine in trauma critical care. Until recently he held the position of state medical director for NSW & the Sydney metropolitan Trauma system with ITIM. As a visiting scholar at Harvard University with the multi-faculty Harvard Humanitarian Initiative, he has been invited to address several forums of international experts. Dr. Rigby has served as the Chair of Intensive Care Services for Ramsay Healthcare at the Noosa Hospital and is an Associate Professor in Robotics & Autonomous Systems with Queensland University of Technology (QUT).
