Duane has more than 35 years of experience in the mining and minerals processing industry that includes business executive roles and numerous project sponsor, project director, project manager, and project engineer positions in E&C and mining companies. His background includes responsibility for business profit and loss, group-wide project delivery quality and processes, and leading the development of major mining projects and studies. Duane has specific expertise in project execution strategies, capital efficiency and project risk assessments, project planning and monitoring, commissioning, project evaluations, remote project logistics and cold weather developments. Previously, Duane held several roles in Amec Foster Wheeler’s Mining & Metals Americas operating unit for North and South America: President (2015-2016), Vice President, Projects (2007-2014) and Vice President, North American Operations (2012-2014). Prior to joining Amec Foster Wheeler, Duane held various project director, project manager, and project delivery roles with Teck/Cominco and Inco. He has a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
