Dzafri Sham Ahmad, aged 49, is the Head of Plant Division of Malaysia LNG Sdn Bhd. He holds a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida. Dzafri has more than 25 years of combined work experience in project implementation and plant operations within PETRONAS as well as in a Joint Venture Company primarily in LNG and Gas business. He started his career as Gas Utilization Engineer in PGB and has served as Mechanical Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, Engineering Manager in the MLNG Dua and MLNG Tiga Plant Projects in Bintulu. Following completion of the MLNG Tiga Plant Project and PETRONAS acquisition of the equity in the Egyptian LNG Company in 2003, he was seconded to be part of the integrated Project Management Team as Construction Manager of the 2-train LNG plant project in Idku, Egypt. Upon successful completion of the project, he was assigned to assist the its Operating Company during the initial years of the plant operations as the Asset Integrity Advisor covering Maintenance, Technical Services and Inspection departments. After a total of 5 years in the JV Company in Egypt, he was called back to assume the role of General Manager at Gas Processing Plant (GPP) A in Kerteh. He moved to his current position as Head (Plant Division) MLNG since 2012 managing the 8-train PETRONAS LNG Complex in Bintulu, Sarawak. Dzafri was the Chairman of PETRONAS’s Engineering Manager Panel from 2009-2013.
