Fareed Lutfi is the Secretary General, Emirates Insurance Association, and Gulf Insurance Federation. He is currently serving as an Independent Board Member of Gulf Warranties, in Bahrain and a Board member and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Emirates ReTakaful Company at DIFC, he is a Board member of Old Mutual M.E. at DIFC and Executive Advisor at Marsh Emirates in the UAE. Fareed Lutfi has served as an executive, board member and on advisory committees of insurance and reinsurance entities in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Turkey, UAE, at DIFC, and until recently was Group Director, Insurance Services at Dubai Holding. He was a Director and Chief Executive Officer of Alliance Insurance, Dubai. he was the General manager of Dubai Islamic insurance and Reinsurance company in Dubai. Fareed was a Board Member and advisor of Dubai International Financial Centre across the spectrum of insurance and reinsurance issues. His career began with ARIG – Arab Insurance Group in 1981 through 1996, setting up and managing the London Contact office from 1982 to 1986. Fareed writes, speaks and presents regularly at Middle East forums covering a range of insurance industry related issues in the region. Keynote speaker, moderator, lecturer for insurance related seminars, summits and conferences, Fareed was asked to participate in the Global Islamic Economy Summit 2013 as a speaker on Islamic Insurance and judge for the Islamic Economy Award in 2013 and 2014 which is the flagship award in this spectrum. With over 34 years of experience, Fareed continues to work tirelessly as a powerful lobbyist for the cause of insurance and correct insurance practice across the UAE and the GCC.
