Fiona Olivier joined Abbott in 2008 as Strategic Business Communications Director for Western Europe & Canada where she established the communications function for the company in the region. In addition to communications, she became responsible for patient relations in 2010 and also for establishing the function across the 19 affiliates in the region. Fiona took on a similar role at AbbVie, following the company’s split from Abbott in 2013. Later in 2013, Fiona was appointed Senior Director Biologics Communications in the global public affairs team, and became a Member of the global senior communications leadership team. In 2015, she returned to her current role as Public Affairs Director for AbbVie in Western Europe & Canada. Fiona joined Abbott from the international public relations agency Ketchum, where she had spent five years culminating in the role of Deputy Managing Director of the Paris office. Prior to joining Ketchum, Fiona worked at GlaxoSmithKline as European Communications Director. She has over twenty years’ experience in corporate communications and has also worked in Dublin, Lodz (Poland) and London in a range of corporate communications roles in a variety of sectors and industries. Fiona has a degree in communications from Dublin City University. She is Irish and lives in Paris with her husband and three boys.
