Fred Gituku MCIPD is the Human Resources Manager for Vivo Energy Kenya. He has previously been the Chief Human Resources Officer for Telkom Orange Kenya. He has for most of his career been a HR practitioner with experience spanning a variety of sectors in among other companies: Mobil Oil Kenya Limited; Strategic Leadership Centre International Ltd; Lloyds TSB Bank and Hamilton Harrison & Mathews Advocates. He is an Independent Trustee of Alexander Forbes Retirement Fund, an umbrella fund which brings together over 20,000 employees from more than 150 companies. He holds a Bachelor of Education degree from Kenyatta University and a Masters degree in Human Resources Management from the University of the West of England in Bristol, UK. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development, UK and the Institute of Human Resources Management in Kenya. Fred is regularly invited to speak at various forums especially on career and workplace related issues at workplaces, higher learning and church institutions. Fred has represented Kenya in the sport of Badminton as an athlete for nearly 20 years until the year 2010 when he retired from competitive sport during which period he represented the country in three editions of Commonwealth Games. He served as Secretary General for Badminton Kenya for 12 years before retiring in 2011. He sits on the council of Badminton Kenya.
