Graeme Gunn is a trained as a chemist, who graduated from Manchester University in the UK with a BSc (Hons) degree. He worked in a selection of manufacturing roles in operational management up to the role of site production manager all within the pharmaceutical and chemical industry. This included high hazard operations and much commissioning work of new assets. Following, he then moved into project management, designing and building reaction systems. He completed three successful projects. While being in a process safety, he produced a COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards) report (about 1200 pages) for submission to the UK HSE (Health & Safety Executive) and this was successfully received without emendation. As a result,his role increased in scope to assisting all our sites in Europe to comply with this legislation (also known as Seveso in EU), having to deal with various national bodies. He became regarded as a global process safety expert and have presented papers at other events on process safety. In 2010 Graeme moved to APAC as a regional process safety manager and by 2012 he became lead for HSE&S (health, safety, environment & security) for Syngenta APAC region, the post he holds today
