He has been a Deputy General Manager of MAPFRE ASISTENCIA since 2008. Before this, he was a Managing Director and a Board Member of MAPFRE’s travel agency VIAJES MAPFRE (2002-2008); a General Manager of MAPFRE’S Tourism Division (2005-2008); and a Chief Executive of the UK Business Unit until 2011. During this period, VIAJES MAPFRE became one of the 12 leading travel agencies in Spain and opened delegations in five countries. In 2011 he was awarded as “Personality of the Year” by the International Travel Insurance Journal UK. In 2002 he was elected as President of Spanish Tourism & e-Commerce Association. In 2012, Gregorio was appointed as Director of Business and Clients for EMEA Region. MAPFRE’s presence in Europe has become strategic for the Group. MAPFRE is established with MAPFRE ASISTENCIA in 19 countries in EMEA, 5 MAPFRE GLOBAL RISK and 4 Life and non-life general insurances, either multichannel or online specific business distribution. With over 25 years’ experience in management positions within the tourism and insurance industry, before joining MAPFRE he worked for GDS Galileo and other technology distribution companies. His expertise is traditional and digital distribution of products and services. Gregorio is since January 2014 CB&C at EMEA (Chief Business and Clients) which includes Sales &Marketing and Insurance Technical Areas.
