JJ is an accomplished global human resources executive with nearly 20 years of global experience in corporate and consulting roles strategizing and driving organizational change, talent development and innovation. He currently is head of Global Mobility Operations at Statoil. In this role he is responsible for providing strategic leadership in the management of international assignment processes and manages a department of global mobility consultants providing support in the administration of nearly 1,000 international assignees in more than 30 countries throughout the international assignment lifecycle. JJ also works to develop and improve programs, policies and administration of mobility processes to reduce costs & meet business needs. Prior to this role, JJ was responsible for delivering organizational effectiveness advice and leading several complex transformational initiatives designed to push Statoil into new markets and geographies. Before joining Statoil, he was an executive at a private equity backed global satellite communications firm responsible where he oversaw multiple acquisitions and eventually the sale of the business with transaction values exceeding $1 billion dollars. From 2007 – 2010 he was head of human resources and a member of the management committee of Merrill Lynch Commodities. He was later promoted to Senior Vice President and helped manage the integration of Merrill Lynch with Bank of America. He currently lives in Stavanger, Norway, with his wife and son.
