Jake has over thirty years experience in the capital markets – spanning the listed and OTC environments. He started with Drexel Burnham on the LIFFE floor in 1983 and traded his own account as a local before managing money as a CTA. Jake sold his fund management business in 1997 and stood as a parliamentary candidate in the National Election of that year. After spending six years consulting in the Barclays Group working on a number of strategic initiatives within retail banking, asset management and the pensions businesses, Jake returned to the capital markets. He was MD at ICAP from 2003-06 and in the last 10 years has advised on a number of significant market infrastructure projects as an independent consultant. Jake has a wide range of clients; including exchanges, CCPs, banks, IDBs, asset managers and pension funds. His experience spans the end to end trade lifecycle and his knowledge of underlying market microstructure along with a deep understanding of the regulatory context and a variety of market models provides the context for advising on business design and how to achieve optimal commercial outcomes.
