Since 2005, John Kiff has been a Senior Financial Sector Expert at the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Prior to that, John worked at the Bank of Canada for 25 years, where he spent most of his time managing the funding and investment of the government’s foreign exchange reserves. At the IMF John is part of the team that produces the semi-annual Global Financial Stability Report (GFSR). More recently John has been focusing on OTC derivative market infrastructure, securitization and longevity risk transfer markets. Outside of the GFSR he also publishes articles and papers on these topics, and is an occasional blogger and Tweets under the “Kiffmeister” moniker.
