Juan has 40 years of experience in management, engineering design, flow assurance, process and facilities engineering and operation of oil and gas subsea and onshore projects. He brings to the table extensive practical experience worldwide from job stints with BP, Jacobs Engineering, Technip and Bechtel. He previously also served as the Asset Manager of a large oil field in Venezuela. He has also acted as the Professor of Engineering at the Bristol University in the UK. Juan has earned his M.Sc., M.E. & Ph.D. degrees from MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

M.Sc., M.E. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, MIT, Cambridge, USA.

Working Experience:
More than 40 years of offshore and onshore experience in the oil and gas industry. Held key engineering and managerial positions with British Petroleum (BP) and Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA). Developed Flow Assurance teams at Technip and Bechtel while leading more than 20 offshore projects. Received the SME recognition from Technip’s College of Experts (Paris, France) and the Bechtel’s Distinguished Engineer acknowledgment. Broad involvement with O&G industry technology organizations including GPA Midstream, RPSEA, ASME Multiphase Flow Committee, SPE Flow Assurance Technical Group, AICHE Flow Assurance and University of Texas at Austin.

Teaching Experience:
16 years of experience as Full Professor of Engineering, at Universidad Metropolitana and Universidad Simon Bolivar, in Caracas, Venezuela.
