Over the past two years, Kenny MacEwen has developed and managed Centerra Gold Inc.’s Corporate Project Management Office including strategic and tactical planning, standard operating procedure establishment, and resource allocation to ensure the successful execution of all of Centerra’s concurrent global projects from the study level through construction. Based on the current status of the engineering consultant market, he recently led a tender to establish a long-term Strategic Engineering Alliance Partner to support ongoing project execution on an as-needed basis. This approach was deemed the best value for achieving Centerra’s goals by creating a better collaborative model for the provision of discipline engineering and secondment services. Kenny’s background is as a mechanical and project engineer working in engineering consulting, having spent over seven years with SNC-Lavalin Inc. working on EPC and EPCM projects of various sizes in the resource sector. He has completed studies, detailed engineering and construction projects for mining in Canada, the United States, Europe and South America and acted as the field engineer for the construction of Barrick Gold’s Cortez Hills project in Nevada. He also managed the Owner’s Technical Consultant team and the consulting EPCM firm to complete Basic Engineering activities for New Gold’s Rainy River Project in northwestern Ontario.
