Mr KHOO HOCK AUN provides project consultancy and project development advisory in property development, waste management, agriculture and sustainable tourism as Director, Green Renewable Organic World (GROW) Centre Sdn Bhd which is active in conducting green technology sustainability related projects and studies in Malaysia and Indonesia. He is currently Secretary, Malaysian Society for Waste Management and Environment and has participated in coordinating a JICA (Japan International Co-operation Agency) funded Grassroots Exchange Programme between residents of Tokyo and Kuala Lumpur in 2014 and 2015. The programme run by the Clean Authority of Tokyo (CAT 23) serves to transfer knowledge and best practices in community waste management through waste separation and recycling activities. He is also currently involved with implementing technologies for treating agricultural wastes and residues for conversion to biofertiliser, biomaterials and biofuels. He is advisor to a biofertiliser production plant in Kuala Kangsar, Perak which utilizes empty fruit bunches and palm oil mill effluent as raw materials in both thermal and microbial composting processes. He is currently Assembly Delegate in the Geneva based Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials. Mr Khoo Hock Aun graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Agribusiness) from Universiti Putra Malaysia and was a Nuffield Foundation Study Fellow with the Science Policy Research Unit, University of Sussex, United Kingdom. He has managed a number of trade associations in both Malaysia and South East Asia and was a journalist with Malaysian Business magazine.
