Ms Rafi leads Citi’s efforts to provide non-participant access to OTC derivative central clearing counterparties in the Americas. She oversees an award winning clearing business that has successfully cleared hundreds of trillions of dollars in notional. Ms Rafi is an active participant in numerous industry working groups, including FCM Advisory Committees for the major CCPs, and industry capital, margin and risk committees. She is a thought leader, regularly participating in public roundtables on central clearing and working closely with regulators throughout the world on successful central clearing design. She has published four articles in Risk Magazine, most recently on the Supplementary Leverage Ratio and clearinghouse skin in the game requirements. Ms Rafi joined Citi from Deutsche Bank where she was a Director in the Systemic Risk Management group, with responsibility for market structure development in derivatives. Prior to this role Ms. Rafi was a credit derivatives structurer and trader at DB. She graduated summa cum laude with a BSc. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and also received an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School.
