Throughout his career, Martin has collected an impressive track record of identifying and mitigating risk within increasingly complex projects from inception through to delivery. Most of his practical hands on experience comes from over two decades spent with mainly Schlumberger and Tullow Oil where his main focus was on delivering challenging well designs worldwide, drilling risk management, rig selection, inspection and performance optimization, leading the digital transformation of drilling analysis and novel techniques in complex well construction, managing overall projects delivery through FEED to execution and delivering drilling optimization training for engineers and directional drillers.
In 2016 Martin found Stanfield Consultants Ltd., the drilling engineering consultancy company that focuses on drilling risk management, including casing design validation, program reviews, stuck-pipe avoidance, drilling surveillance and drilling performance management.
