MD IDRIS BIN SALIM is an Upstream Health and Safety Advisor at Saudi Aramco with a senior subject matter expert role for Upstream process safety and occupational hygiene/health areas. Prior to joining Saudi Aramco more than 4 years ago, MD IDRIS served several companies, including Qatar Petroleum, Aker Kvaerner and Cognis. He has more than 20 years of professional experience in relevant areas in oil and gas, and chemical operations and industries. He received two Master’s degrees (Industrial Safety & Mechanical Engineering) from the National University of Malaysia, first degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia in USA, and a Diploma in Business Administration from the Strategic Business School in Kuala Lumpur. Currently, he is a candidate of an Engineering Doctorate in Chemical Engineering (specializing in process safety) with the University of Technology Malaysia. In addition, he has several professional certifications/registrations: Chartered Engineer (or CEng) with the Engineering Council (UK) and a Chartered Member and Energy Engineer of the Energy Institute in UK Certified Safety Professional (or CSP) with the US Board of Certified Safety Professionals Certified Industrial Hygienist (or CIH) with the American Board of Industrial Hygiene Certified Quality Engineer (or CQE) with the American Society for Quality Registered Consultant Chemical Engineer (CE) with the Saudi Council of Engineers
