Mike Tomtene is the Mine Engineering Superintendent at PotashCorp’s Allan Mine Site overseeing all aspects of Underground Mine Projects, Engineering Activities, Mine Planning and Shaft Operations & Maintenance. He joined PotashCorp in 2006. Mike held several roles and was involved extensively with the site underground expansion which included the installation of a new, larger mine hoist and shaft equipment, headframe and underground infrastructure resulting in approximately a 50% increase in mine output. He is also responsible for the execution of the Mine Sustaining Capital Program. Mike works to assist and support the PotashCorp Global Procurement group on several initiatives. Mike is a Professional Engineer holding a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan.
