Michiel van den Berg has over 16 years of experience in HR and business of which the first 12 years in a consulting role at Deloitte. During his time as a consultant Michiel gained experience in Oil & Refinery, Energy, Financial Services, Manufacturing and Healthcare. He worked on the following type of projects: mergers and acquisitions, HR Transformation, Remuneration, Performance Management and HR Information System implementations. Since 2011 he is Head of Group Remuneration and Organization Effectiveness at the Erste Group Bank AG (45,000 employees). Michiel is responsible for group-wide functional design, projects and policies in functional HR areas such as: remuneration, performance management, competence building, HR Information Systems and employee engagement. One of main focus points is to bring people management/leadership (back) into the business. He is married and his wife runs a small farm with donkeys in Mariazellerland, Austria.
