Dr. Norbert Dank comes with 20 years of clinical research experience, with a focus on project management as well as quality management. Norbert started his career as CRA and worked later as Clinical Project Manager in various companies. During his time in operational clinical research, he gained experience in managing a variety of multicenter, multinational clinical trials (Phases 1 – 4 and NIS) in various indications. At UCB, he was acting as a Line Manager for clinical trial teams from 2006 to 2016. In this role, Norbert took on the task of building an interdisciplinary working group within Global Clinical Project Management at UCB to explore oversight of clinical trial conduct by applying risk based methodologies. Beginning 2016, he joined the newly formed Risk Based Monitoring group at UCB as Clinical Risk Management Lead, reporting to the Head of Risk Based Monitoring & Standards. In this new role, he is creating tools to implement risk based approaches into UCB studies, supporting study teams to perform risk assessment activities and facilitating interdisciplinary meetings to define risk management strategies on study level. Interactions with CRO partner ensure that these risk mitigation strategies are translated into the operational trial execution. Further, he is acting as an UCB internal ambassador for risk based approaches in clinical trial management. In addition, Norbert is member of the TransCelerate RBM Workstream.
