Oliver Sanandres

Director Health & Safety
City of London Corporation
Oliver Sanandres is Director & Head of Profession (Health & Safety) at the City of London Corporation, one of the United Kingdom’s most complex and diverse public sector organisations. The Corporation delivers services across 18 departments spanning policing, education, culture, major events, property, environmental services, open spaces, markets and some of the country’s most iconic assets, including Tower Bridge and the Barbican Centre.
Since joining the Corporation, Oliver has led an award nominated digital transformation programme designed to modernise safety management and strengthen organisational assurance. Working across more than 4,000 employees and 44 operational profiles, he led the development of a fully integrated digital safety ecosystem combining the bespoke SafetyNet platform and Safe365 maturity framework. The programme digitised risk management, incident reporting and assurance activities, providing leaders with real time visibility of organisational risk, safety performance and cultural maturity.
The transformation has delivered measurable improvements, including a 25% increase in reporting, significant reductions in investigation times, improved governance oversight and a rise in organisational safety maturity from 51% to 62% in under two years. By replacing fragmented, paper based processes with consistent, data driven systems, the Corporation has strengthened leadership accountability, improved organisational learning and created a practical model for applying digital innovation to health and safety at scale.
A Chartered Member of IOSH, Oliver is a recognised leader in governance, assurance, organisational culture, with a particular interest in how technology, data analytics and AI can help organisations move from reactive compliance to predictive risk management.
