As CCO of Fifth Third Bank’s Swap Dealer and Capital Markets, Petar L Kostur has the responsibility to fulfill the duties set forth in the Act and Commission regulations relating to the swap activities of the Fifth Third Bank Swap Dealer. In addition, Petar is responsible for establishing and managing the Volcker Rule Enhanced Compliance Program at Fifth Third Bank. He joined the Bank in this role in March 2014. Petar has 20 years of financial industry experience. In 2010, Petar completed his Masters in Finance concentrating in quantitative risk management, where he sought to find a role where he could incorporate his trading, compliance, and risk management backgrounds. He acquired a position with BNY Mellon in New York to work with their CCO to build their swap dealer compliance program. In addition to building the swap dealer compliance program, Pete held other positions within BNY Mellon including; back-up role to the CCO of BNYM Clearing (FCM), Subject Matter Expert for BNYM Global Markets and Treasury, compliance representative for the risk and new products committees and member of the Volcker Rule Steering Committee responsible for analyzing proprietary trading on an enterprise level. Previously, Petar held numerous positions in securities, futures, OTC derivatives, and investment advisor roles, spanning specialist and management roles in compliance, sales and business development, trading, market forecasting, and risk management in the US and Canada. Mr. Kostur received his two bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Business Management – Finance from Purdue University and a Master’s of Science degree in Finance – Risk Management from Illinois Institute of Technology. Mr. Kostur is active in numerous professional and community organizations.
