Ragy Saro is currently a Programme Officer at the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) – The Regional Office for Arab States. Throughout the past years he has coordinated with different Arab States on promoting disaster risk reduction, through the continuous exchange of information, advocacy campaigns, and building private sector partnerships. As a capacity building expert, he has supported local governments and key Arab private sector to integrate risk reduction and resilience in their strategies and plans. He further supported more than 300 Arab cities and municipalities to join the global campaign on Making Cities Resilient. Ragy is a member in different working groups related to disaster risk reduction, climate change, private sector partnerships and local government resilience. His academic background is in political Science, business administration, and sustainable development.
