Raj has over 20 years of industry experience in research and development. His career began as a Research Scientist at Syntex, followed by 15 years working for Roche (twice), Amgen and Genentech (twice). Raj has provided leadership to research, development and commercialization teams primarily in the cardiovascular and oncology therapeutic areas. In addition, he has managed several product development alliances with small biotechs as well as large biopharma. The last 5 years, he switched from large biopharma to providing product development expertise for small virtual biotechs, including LoneStar Heart, Inc., where he was involved in very early-stage assets in Regenerative Medicine. He is currently at Versartis Inc for almost 3 years where he is the VP of Product Development and Alliance Management. Over the years he has also been actively involved in many industry organizations (DIA, PMI, BioPharma PM) where he has served on Committees, Advisory Boards, and given numerous presentations on Project Management and Drug Development. Raj holds a BS in Microbiology and Immunology from McGill University, a PhD in Pharmacology from Dalhousie University and he completed postdoctoral training in the Cardiology Division at Stanford University School of Medicine.
