Ryan Mateja is a safety scientist on the Drug Safety Surveillance Team. He supports Baxter’s Drug Safety Physicians by assisting in the preparation of documents for regulatory purposes, reviewing scientific literature for pharmacovigilance benefit-risk analysis, performing database searches and signal analysis. Ryan has a passion for patient safety and enjoys the challenges and unique opportunities involved in having a new role. Ryan received both his B.S. in kinesiology and his Ph.D. in Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He joined Baxter in July of 2013 as a Medical Safety Writer, preparing PSURs, PBRERs and DSURs for regulatory submission. He was promoted to Sr. Medical Safety Writer in 2016 and shortly after transitioned to the Drug Safety Surveillance Team.
