Salamah Al-Dhafiri is currently the Director of Sustainability & Environment Protection department at Sadara Chemical Company. Salamah’s experience spans over 18 years in different successful companies. His most recent assignment was with SAHARA Petrochemical Company as EHS Manager for 5 years (2010-2015). He worked individually, through committees and task forces to establish SAHARA’s EHS management system, remove all environmental regulatory non-compliance as well as represented the company in many events, associations & government entities along with leading several initiatives. Salamah started his career back in 1999 as a Chemist in “Arabian Oil Company” and in 2000, he moved to Royal Commission of Jubail. In 2008 Salamah joined SABIC and for 2 years, he worked closely with governmental, 3rd parties and manufacturing teams to understand and fulfil all EHS requirements. In 2015, Salamah accepted the new challenging role of Sustainability & Environment Protection Director in Sadara, with a goal of how to help the world’s largest chemical complex ever built in a single phase (Sadara), in sustaining its operation and meeting the international & governmental standards using the best available design that is aligned with Sadara’s vision. Salamah holds a Master Degree in Occupational Health & safety from Arab British Academy for Higher Education (ABAHE) and a Bachelor degree in Chemistry from Kuwait University, respectively. Also, he holds NEBOSH International Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety from National 6th Smart Grids & Smart Meter Summit Examination Board of Occupational Safety & Health, and certified as Radiation Safety Officer from King Abdullah City for Automatic and Renewable Energy (KACARE).
