Steve Chippas joined Chiyoda International Corporation in April 2016 as their Chief Legal Counsel, Americas. Prior to joining Chiyoda, Steve served as Senior Counsel for KBR, Inc. in their Chicago and Houston offices. Steve’s experience has been principally serving as inside counsel for global engineering and construction firms on a wide variety of projects in the hydrocarbons, downstream, power generation, and infrastructure markets. His experience ranges from small engineering services contracts to multi-billion dollar EPC contracts in locations that include North America, Australia, India, Indonesia, and South America, and includes working with multi-party joint ventures on some of the largest construction projects of the last decade. Steve graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as an engineer for Harza Engineering Company (now MWH/Stantec) in Chicago on a variety of projects including hydroelectric and gas turbine power projects, water resource projects and infrastructure projects. While working for Harza, Steve attended law school and graduated with honors from the Chicago Kent College of Law. Steve is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois and Texas and is a member of the bar in Illinois.
