T.G. joined McKinsey as an Expert in the firm’s Capital Projects & Infrastructure practice in April ’16. He is based in the Houston office, and works with the firm’s clients to improve the performance of their capital programs. His current assignments include capital performance improvement programs for a major chemical co., and a global manufacturer. Prior to joining McKinsey, T.G. was the Vice-President of Capital Projects for SunCoke Energy, a global manufacturer of a key material for steel-making. In this role, he built and led a capital projects organization responsible for the planning and execution of all large projects for the company, including construction of new plants. During the course of his 30+ years in engineering and construction, T.G. has been focused on developing and managing large global projects in the oil & gas, LNG, metals, manufacturing, forest products and other industries, both with owner and EPC contractor companies, including 11 years with KBR. He has been involved in a number of international projects and initiatives, with long-term project assignments on LNG projects in Algeria, plant commissioning and start-up roles in Korea, and leading a highly successful turnaround of Honeywell’s global network of engineering offices in India, China, and Romania. In addition to extensive experience in project execution, T.G. has had considerable success in the front-end planning and development of projects, and their commercial negotiation with clients. T.G. has an engineering degree from the University of Madras, India, and an MBA from the Jones School of Management at Rice University, Houston, TX.
