Thierry Van Landegem is an expert in innovation, intrapreneurship and sustainability. Until recently, he was Vice President of Open Innovation and Innovation Operations at Bell Labs, the research arm of Alcatel-Lucent. His worldwide responsibilities included eco-systems and collaborations with academic and industrial partners on a worldwide basis, as well as the global operational management of research and innovation. Concurrently, and under Thierry’s leadership, GreenTouch™ – a five-year fifty-member consortium of leading ICT industry stakeholders dedicated to significantly reduce the carbon footprint of communications – announced mid 2015 its final results over-achieving its ambitious goal to improve energy efficiency. Previously, Thierry was responsible for research and ventures (internal startups) for Alcatel – during his tenure he launched and ran boot camps focusing on intrapreneurship, business plan building and new product creation. Thierry was also a member of the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council for Sustainability, was twice an IEEE journal guest editor, participated in the Visionary Research group initiated by the European Commission, and was a member of the European Commission’s Information Society Technologies Advisory Group. He has written more than 70 publications and participated in multiple expert groups, incubation centers and advisory boards. At the end of 2015, Thierry took some time off to focus and speak on innovation, intrapreneurship and sustainability, starting up his wife’s business and writing a book. He is now a management consultant at wennov8 which he founded that focuses on innovation, collaboration, intrapreneurship, transformation and sustainability.
