Tomasz Szela is an experienced manager in treasury area and head of collateral management in PKO Bank Polski, the undisputed leader of the banking sector in Central Europe. His organization is one of the largest financial institutions in the region with multiple subsidiaries in major European countries. In his role, Tomasz oversees the collateral management process at PKO Bank Polski Group. He was responsible for applying the principles of EMIR, MIFID/MIFIR, MAR and margining rules within his organization. Currently he is also managing the OTC central clearing business. In 2015 Tomasz was a key figure in the EMIR implementation process, which was selected #1 project in banking industry in Poland. Prior to his appointment in 2013 at PKO Bank Polski, Tomasz served as capital markets expert at Citi and Deloitte, where he provided advisory and management consulting services to companies from the financial services sector. He possess two master’s degrees; in Quantitative Methods from Warsaw School of Economics and in Law from University of Warsaw. He was also awarded a DAAD scholarship at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany. Currently Tomasz is a PhD candidate specializing in capital markets law.
