Ziad Al Refai is a Board Member and CEO of Ethmar for Islamic Finance Company since 2015, a newly established Islamic Microfinance Company owned by King Hussein Foundation, and previously he was CEO of Jordan Micro Credit Company (Tamweelcom) for 11 years bringing with him extensive experience in the fields of human development and Microfinance. Mr. Refai holds a BA in Accounting and MBA in Microfinance, Harvard Business School Executive Education graduate; “Strategic Leadership for Microfinance”, “Strategic Perspectives in non-profit Management and Microfinance” as well “Performance Measurement for effective management of non-profit organizations”. He is also an accredited Microfinance trainer by the Microfinance Network of Arab Countries (SANABEL), Board member of Social Performance Task Force “SPTF” representative of MENA region, Advisory board member of Youth financial Services “YFS”, in addition to a member at “Partners for a New Beginning “PNB”, “ILO” certified trainer, EFQM certified evaluator for Excellency of management, and social entrepreneur in the World Economic Forum. Mr. Al Refai was also a Vice Chairman of “Sanabel’s” Board. With Tamweelcom, Mr. Al Refai has targeted transparency, best industry practice and social community and environmental corporate responsibility and pioneered Educational Grants Initiative for benefit of clients’ school-age children. Finally, he is a Member at the Royal Society for Conservation of Nature and a recipient of the Social Entrepreneurship award.
