Engineer Olfa Hamdi is a pioneer in Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) and an expert in Capital Projects lifecycle integration. Hamdi served as a key member of the Construction Industry Institute’s research team 272 (CII RT 272), which significantly expanded existing models for WorkFace Planning. Hamdi is a co-author of the CII Industry Implementation Resource on AWP (IR272). She documented through case studies and expert interviews AWP benefits and challenges as part of her early academic research work. Her thesis, published at The University of Texas Austin, is entitled "Advanced Work Packaging (AWP): from project definition through site execution”, and is the first academic publication documenting AWP implementation challenges.
Hamdi is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Concord Project Technologies inc. (www.tconglobal.com), a California based start-up company developing the industry’s first digital project knowledge integration platform. Prior to co-founding Concord, she served as the executive director of the AWP Institute (www.workpackaging.org) and has led risk evaluations of major projects with Independent Project Analysis Inc. One of her key project missions was the closeout and benchmarking evaluation of the multi-billion dollar Sadara program in 2014. Hamdi holds a Masters of Science in Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, a second Masters of Science in Engineering from Ecole Centrale de Lille (France) and a graduate degree in construction law from Texas Law School. Hamdi speaks 4 languages.
